Cartriseal Mechanical Seals
Circumferential Seals
Are control gap seals that are not fluid tight but rather restrict and
control the flow by means of an engineered radial gap between the shaft/sleeve
and the seal insert.
Description: Minimizes leakage of gases by using a closely controlled
clearance between the non-contacting, floating labyrinth ring and the shaft.
Since no elastomers are used its temperature range is exceptionally wide. Its
compact construction fits applications where space is limited.
Applications: For sealing cryogens or hot gases from bearings and
other mechanisms used in gas turbines, compressors, refrigeration equipment, jet
engines, other aerospace applications, and numerous industrial applications.
Description: Designed with segmented rings that operate in contact
with the shaft. The segmented rings have complex joints that are designed to
minimize leakage as well as allow tracking, as the runner grows thermally and
centrifugally. Its compact construction fits applications where space is
limited. Recommended where lower leakage rates are desirable and contact with
the shaft is acceptable.
Applications: For sealing cryogens or hot gases from bearings and
other mechanisms used in gas turbines, compressors, refrigeration equipment, jet
engines, other aerospace applications and numerous industrial applications.
Description: Designed with an initial interference with the shaft.
Fracture(s) in the carbon ring accommodate for centrifugal forces and thermal
expansion. As wear occurs on the carbon the fractures close until a line-to-line
fit with the shaft is established.
Applications: For sealing cryogens or hot gases from bearings and
other mechanisms used in gas turbines, compressors, refrigeration equipment, jet
engines, other aerospace applications and numerous industrial applications.
