Rexnord's
Cartiseal mechanical seals are used in a wide variety of products and
applications. Cartiseal also handle's applications spreading over
numerous market places. Some major application in the Aerospace
industry include Gas Turbine Engine mainshaft & gearbox
applications, and Auxiliary Power Units. Rexnord seals can also be
found through out the refrigeration, food processing, and scores of
other process industry markets and applications.

Analysis & Design
Every
seal purchased from Rexnord will be subjected to extensive expert
engineering analysis. For example, performance evaluations use laboratory instrumentation,
finite element analysis and CAD systems, enabling our
engineers to solve problems caused by clamping stress, vibration,
fluid contamination, and insufficient lubrication and cooling.
Additional data is acquired through finite element, wear and thermal
analysis, to ensure ultimate performance and maximum operating life. Prototype
Shop
In
order satisfy our customers need for a high quality product in a
reasonable time frame, Rexnord has organized a stand alone Development
Department
dedicated to manufacturing prototype mechanical seals. The Rexnord
development department is able to produce seal assemblies for
qualification/performance testing, and other short lead-time and small
quantity orders. Seals manufactured through Rexnord's Development
Department are subjected to the same high quality standards and
manufacturing expertise as production seals.Manufacturing Capabilities
Our
manufacturing facility makes extensive use of the most current CNC
machining equipment, cellular manufacturing, computerized shop floor
control, and CAD/CAM/DNC. Our technical staff utilizes systems such as
Statistical Process Controls (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE) to
continually implement process improvements to ensure parts are
manufactured to your precise dimensional and geometric specifications. Quality Systems/Capabilities
Rexnord
uses Quality Assurance (QA) together with Total Quality Management (TQM)
to produce seals of the highest quality for your application. Rexnord also utilizes Continuous Improvement (CI), Statistical
Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiment (DOE), and Employee
Empowerment (EE), as part of the Total Quality System. We are ISO9001:2000
and AS9100A:Section 1 certified.
