Repairable seal designs incorporating
take-a-part features are available. The diagram above shows a twist lock
design using tangs at the end of the channels (item #1) that
"grab" a step located on the seal nose (item # 4). A snap
washer retaining feature is also available in the repairable Type 1 seal
designs.
Cokeguard coating is available. The seal
nose can is coated (with cokeguard) to provide a cooler, resistant
surface to prevent fluid residue from accumulating in critical areas.
Balancing of the seal nose and composite
(ferrule and insert) seal nose designs are available where pressure
dictates a more robust seal design.
